Dear Grandmother, I think of you.
The genesis of all I am-
And I honor you-
You held me high as a child
A model of the woman I wanted to become-
I pray that you see me-
I pray that I have made you proud
So much has been taken
When I found of your passing
My soul was shaken
at the core.
The memories of your beauty are forever etched in my mind
Your beauty on inside and out
I look at your photo-
and I see, I see me
I see love
I see beyond-
Will you greet me at heavens door?
Or will you re-enter my life in the next cycle?
Will you remember me?-
Cause I shall never forget you
Grandmother, you were held from my life-
