I thought that I'll share this article for all that don't know. It seems that modern society has forgotten or are not aware of the fact that the Statue Of Liberty was commissioned to celebrate the end of chattel slavery. There is this misconception that it was made to commemorate immigrants coming to Ellis Island. I think that we all need to understand the struggle that Americans labeled as "Black" have contributed to the infrastructure of this land. We are the foundation of this great country. There would have been no President Obama or Kamal Harris if it weren't for our ancestors...
It's time we so called Black Americans hold our heads high, this is our country, this is where we belong. ADOS have contributed a number of great inventions, ideas, won wars etc. We own that!!! Most importantly, our enslaved ancestors were not immigrants but the cooper colored Americans found here by Columbus...Without us, there is no you!! Word To The Wise

Hello dear friends, it's been a while...The covid-19 plandemic, pardon...pandemic, the elections, the hopes of a vaccine, one that isn't funded by Bill Gates, you know, the population control guy? Anywho...moving right along. I'm sure that you all have heard of the untimely, unfortunate death of an up and coming drill rapper; King Von. He was 26 and a father of 3. (May he rest in peace) I was made aware of him by one of my sons. I first heard of his hit "Take Her To The O". For all who are wondering, the O is a notorious low income apartment complex in the black belt of Chicago,Ill. (It's called the black belt because once upon a time, people classified as "black" we're legally discriminated against housing. They were pushed to reside in the undesired southside. Of course Biden/Harris will right the wrongs of a biased system...won't they??) Michelle Robinson Obama (Former First Lady) once resided in these apartments as a child!!! This area has now become crime and gang ridden. Two prominent opposing gangs each have their own territory. One gang is called "The Gangster Disciples" and their territory is called "Tookaville" after a 15 year old boy (Shondale "Tooka" Gregory) that was murdered by the opp (*opposition or rival gang), the "Black Disciples". The Black Disciples territory is called the "O Block". It's named O Block after a 20 year old man that was murdered (Odell Perry). Perry was allegedly murdered by a 17 year old tiny tot girl by the name of Gakirah Barnes. She is rumored to have killed 17 people! It's a vicious cycle.
If you know me, I'm always one to ask "why?" I think why is an essential, everlasting, ever expanding word, that keeps the wonder in life. But hey, that's just me!
To peep into the psyche of our misguided youth, you must understand that these youth have no hope...they see no way for a better life, not to mention, it's not cool to be a square. So the smart sheep thus become wolves, the preyed upon becomes the predator. Intellect, being different, nerdy or goofy isn't facilitated in American hoods, I know, I was raised in the "hood". ( It's a lonely journey, staying true to oneself in the ghetto) Despite this, it seems to be a new, more aggressive culture. Being poor doesn't mean that one is going to gang bang, or chase a life of crime. Could it be the music? As I was driving in my car with my son, I listened to this King Von song. I immediately thought, this guy is talented, I wish he wasn't rapping about sex, drugs and violence. I found myself humming the tune days later...why dammit? Why am I humming this song when none of it relates to me or my lifestyle? What deviltry is this I thought? I looked deeper to understand what is drill music? While drill music is a sub-genre of rap that glorifies murder, illicit drug use, irresponsible sex, what makes it different? To find that out, you would have to understand the majick behind making music. The average song ranges between 116-150 bpm ( beats per minute). This affects our moods. The faster, the more amp, the happier the mood, generally speaking. *side bar- Gloomy Sunday by Hungarian pianist and composer Rezso" Seress has been said to be the cause of many suicides...who knows?
To make a true drill (Drill= shooting up opps) song you must have a 60-70 bpm. Now this is were it gets interesting, at this range our memory recall and retention is enhanced. Also, we are in a more romantic mood...hmmm, could this be it? Could this be a major factor in the increase of violence and gang life with the youth? If you put it together, it seems that the young people are falling in love with this debauchery. Remembering exactly how and where to shoot. Romanizing murder, glorifying degradation of their peer, male and female. Lusting fast, dishonest money. Granted, because one listens to this music doesn't mean that one will follow a path of crime...but take a child that lives in abject poverty, has no real leadership to look up to, no true guidance and the results just may be that. A path to crime, drugs, prison, murder or be murdered. It's funny that these drill rappers never tell of the aftermath of such ill behavior. There is never a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow!!! The Grim Reaper awaits on the other side. The cycle is very disturbing. You find yourself feeling sorry for the gang member that met a premature demise, until you find out that this person was a child assassin. That child, that innocent face, had bodies on them. They were the reason many mothers have cried. Now your only recourse is to chalk that up to karma. Thanks to drill music...
Who's behind this? Why are these rappers allowed to speak of such destruction? Is this all accidental or by design? Can we attribute this to inner city crime? Can we blame anyone? You tell me...and never forget, always ask why?
