An Ohio elementary school teacher and her ex-husband face a total of 78 counts in the rape of the woman's son.
On Monday, Lori Ann Anderson, 50, pleaded not guilty to 25 counts, including sexual battery and gross sexual imposition. Charles Wycuff, 53, who split with Anderson in 2003, faces 53 counts including rape using force, coercion and drugs, according to WHIO. He remains in Auglaize County Jail.
Anderson was released Monday afternoon, after posting bond, according to the New York Post.
The Daily Beast reports that the sole victim in the case is Anderson's son, who went to police in 2011 to report the abuse years after he said it happened, between 1997 and 1999.
A special prosecutor investigated the case for more than two years before filing charges against the estranged couple on Friday.
Anderson has taught first through third graders in the Wapakoneta City Schools system for 29 years, and has no prior criminal record. The school district said it wouldn't comment because of the active investigation.
Anderson is preparing to stand trial. Her lawyer, Richard Kerger, told the Daily Beast that Wycuff was "in charge of orchestrating" the abuse and that Anderson is "relieved to tell her side of it.”
"She likes teaching kids, young kids," Kerger said.
