Hello dear friends, today I want to share with you an article that I find most interesting. As we're all aware of the recent murders of unarmed Americans. I want to state firstly that, the unjustified murder of anyone is disheartening, black, white, yellow etc.!! Hold on, as I was typing, something came to mind. Do you see how stupid racism is? I say this because we have been taught to address individuals as colors. We describe peoples as white, black, brown, yellow, red.... I have yet to see any person white, black etc.. I have yet to see a black person, a white person etc.. I'm sure you get my point. This alone is a form of institutional racism. Unknowingly all Americans practice racism, day in and day out!! We are in dire straits with this racial divide in America. Why must one describe their friend as "John, my black friend" or "Amanda, my white friend" ? I digress, boy do I...
Anyways.... A police officer in West Virginia was fired for NOT shooting and/or killing a man that was in distress. He had broken no laws. This person was severely depressed hence suicidal. I find this to be very ironic.
I applaud this officer, he is a hero in my book!
Why? Because he didn't take the easy way out and murder this man. He used his marine training and skills to diffuse the situation. This took bravery..most importantly this took a change in thinking!
And a change in how we think of one another in America is the only saving grace here.
