Omg, is all that I can say as I'm receiving my daily dose of news via Al jazeera English. I'm global that way!! (Though I haven't set foot outside of the U.S, thus far)! Its been reported that 200 civilians have drowned in the White Nile River of South Sudan. Forgive me, but any other news story,( in my ever humble opinion ) pales in comparison to this, ( with the exception of the Syrian Civil war ). Sudan, a oil rich country in North Africa, is no stranger to calamity. If you recall, the Darfur Conflict,(which is still ongoing) it was reported that the janjaweed were committing genocide against non-arab blacks of the southern region in Darfur. I've read many horrific accounts of the atrocities being committed against civilians. I pray that God blesses the souls of the poor innocent people who lost their lives, in an attempt to seek peace , food ,and shelter. This is a human right that no man ,woman,or child of any tribe, religion, gender, class or nation should be deprived of. This situation is a testament to how humanity needs to find God collectively. It seems that no matter what, man will always find some way to hate, divide, and kill one another. For example, through my research into the matter, I've noticed that the so-called arabs don't look much different from the black Sudanese. In short, on any continent outside of Africa, each group would be classified as aboriginal African. So we can check off the racial genocide theory. Next , all but about 15% of Sudan's entire population are Muslim. Brotherly love ? So there goes the jihad theory. What's happening there is nothing new. In 1431, the Polish- Teutonic war started between two brothers that were essentially fighting as to who was the rightful heir. The Georgian- Armenian War, the Finnish Civil War, the First and Second Chechen wars, and the list goes on. And this blood shed boils downs to what ? Resources? Ethnic cleansing ? Power ? I understand that these conflicts are occurring on foreign soil, and yes, I know that America has a checked past. But we must continue to improve how we view each other . We must view the whole of humanity, and not in terms of this sector or that party. This faction or that group. When we do this, we are inviting the energy of division into our psyche, thus leading to ignorance, mayhem, and ultimately, war !!!

"I'm an avid student of life, love, and spirit. My blog isn't about external beauty per se, clothes, fashion, make-up,or even politics. No none of these things!! The articles that I write come from my heart and are about something simple yet complex, rugged yet fragile, dark yet light. Something beautiful yet at times can be ugly. I write about something that all reading this shouldn't take for granted. Life!! Something everlasting yet fleeting." - Shakira Z. Ch'i Peace Always |
