Ah,Halloween. The time when we get to live out our secret fantasies openly with- out public ridicule. By wearing costumes, we instantly become someone else; externally that is. We allow our children to go tricking for treats. Some of us get drunk and act rowdy all in the name of Halloween. Matter of fact, many churches celebrate Halloween (for the children of course). All hallows eve,is what a witch would call this day. A day to glorify and appease the dead in witchcraft. With any small amount of research, it can be discovered that Halloween itself, has Celtic pagan roots, like all western holidays (Hallow-days). The key here is to note the root of holiday. Holiday= holy day= hallow day. Definition of hallow 1). To make as holy; sanctify; consecrate. 2). To honor as holy; consider sacred; venerate. Stated above we see the definition of hallow; to make holy. Make? The point I wish to express here is that any day can be MADE holy, but is it truly? Is it really proper for a nation of so many Christians to celebrate? Celebrate something that we truly don't understand. Should we uplift the energy of fear ? Isn't fear a sin? I don't judge. I know of many people with many different religions ( Wiccan included ) , who come from all walks of life. Yet I don't understand how some profess to be holy yet celebrate demonic forces? Should one wear the cloak of righteousness , but underneath possess a bounty of darkness. If we desire for God to bless America , then we must become a nation of true followers of Christ. We can not point fingers at people who are open and honest about their spiritual beliefs, yet celebrate with them under the guise of fun. Lest we become a nation of hypocrites!!! That being said, to all who celebrate - Happy Halloween.

"I'm an avid student of life, love, and spirit. My blog isn't about external beauty per se, clothes, fashion, make-up,or even politics. No none of these things!! The articles that I write come from my heart and are about something simple yet complex, rugged yet fragile, dark yet light. Something beautiful yet at times can be ugly. I write about something that all reading this shouldn't take for granted. Life!! Something everlasting yet fleeting." - Shakira Z. Ch'i Peace Always |
