Hello my dear friends. I know, I know, it's been a while. I just refuse to gossip about what I interpret as nonsense. I refuse to talk on Kanye West ( a.k.a Kanye Kardashian ),no matter how important he thinks he and Kim are. He keeps saying it and maybe one day he will believe it. On second thought, maybe I will comment one day on that awful "Bound 2" video, that dreadful Yeezus album, or that downright retarded interview he gave with the host of the breakfast club morning show. Anyways, another day ,another post. As previously stated, I'm a huge listener of music and I'm also intrigued by its affects on society. Well, not to digress (believe me, I have a point here), for a number of years as a child, I lived in an ,uh umm urban area (nice way of ghetto folks, lol). In my old childhood demographic, it was the norm for my male peers to be robbed of their Jordan sneakers. Yes, robbed at gun point for their shoes. Several boys from my neighborhood, were murdered and robbed of their Jordans. ( May God bless their souls. ) Me being the person I am, eagerly waited to hear or read a comment where Michael Jordan denounced or admonished youths against these sort of misdeeds. Sadly, that day never came. Sadly ,the prices of Jordans kept going up. Sadly, young boys all over America kept getting killed behind these damned shoes. Yes, I know that M.J didn't make those misguided youths pull the trigger. But the youth are so impressionable, especially when being programmed with commercials, videos, and songs. It seems that old habits are hard to break, so now there is a song out for this generation ,entitled "23". Essentially, its an ode to Michael Jordan and his beloved sneaker brand. ( I guess his stocks are dropping !!) How many children will have to die? How many parents will feel inadequate because they are unable to afford $200 plus shoes? ( there is actually a price guide book for Air Jordan sneaks!!) How many children will go and do whatever to obtain them? I respect Shaq for making his shoes affordable and available to the masses. The masses of Americans who live from paycheck to paycheck. But this is the result people when we breed our children to be materialistic. This is what happens when we let commercialism, media and pseudo-heroes raise our children. The by-product of capitalism ain't pretty. I have posted the video below. Here is a short video clip of a teen murdered for Jordans. This people is one case of many. Research further.

"I'm an avid student of life, love, and spirit. My blog isn't about external beauty per se, clothes, fashion, make-up,or even politics. No none of these things!! The articles that I write come from my heart and are about something simple yet complex, rugged yet fragile, dark yet light. Something beautiful yet at times can be ugly. I write about something that all reading this shouldn't take for granted. Life!! Something everlasting yet fleeting." - Shakira Z. Ch'i Peace Always |
