I hope that you all have been staying safe? As for me, I have...but it's important to note that staying safe also includes protecting your mental health. Keeping one's emotions, reactions and what we give attention to in balance. Balance is key!!! Whew chile, between children still being in cages, gas prices going up, to or not to take the covid-19 vaccine, Cardi B's lackluster Grammy performance and now Lil Nas X giving symbolic Satan a lap dance? Truth be told, I despise seeing Meg Thee Stallion and the Cardi B types being reduced to mere high paid strippers. They like to claim that this behavior or persona if you will, empowers women. How so? I mean women have always been sexualized. So amplifying your feminine charm and sexuality by 1000% is going to make what... men respect you more? Oh, they will look pass the way your left ass cheek doesn't bounce as much as the right one, straight to your awesome personality and stunning intellect...yeah, when hell freezes over!!! But you know, people like Cardi and Nas X do ANYTHING for attention (Attention and Anger are the new marketing currency). I ignore attention starved people, that's just me! And I'm certainly not putting much energy into folks that aren't worth my oh so precious time. Remember folks, time is money!!! Wow do I digress! I was actually gonna talk about Candace Owens most recent video post where she talks about the new Satan shoes that were designed with the help of Lil Nas X and each pair are said to contain one drop of human blood reportedly. Yes, I follow Candace Owens on the gram. As a matter of fact, some points she makes are actually valid, but hey, even a broken clock is right 2 times a day!!!
I'm starting to realize that I'm not a true liberal. I always deemed myself as a liberal, well adjusted, socially conscious Democrat...boy those are the good ole days! You know what, I'm not left or right. I I'm just me. I have some liberal ideologies with conservative tendencies...if that makes any sense?
Anywho, where was I?...oh yeah. Candace Owens. I disagreed with several points within her diatribe. I've listed below
1) "Black Americans are only 13% of the population but commit 50% of violent crimes".
Those stats are the most commonly repeated racist trope. In 2019 alone, 10 million crimes were committed. Of those 10 million, 7 million were committed by whites, while 2.6 million by blacks.
In the area of murder and manslaughter, 5,070 were committed by whites, while 5,660 were committed by blacks.
Robbery, whites committed 33,290 robberies while blacks committed 39,290
Aggravated Assault ,whites committed 237,960 while blacks committed 128,020
Larceny and theft ,539,390 were committed by whites while 245,540 were committed by blacks
Motor Vehicle Theft, whites committed 54,500 while blacks committed 23,110
Simply Assault, whites committed 664,630 while blacks committed 319,920
Forgery, whites committed 30,310 while blacks committed 13,610
Fraud, whites committed 74,270 while blacks committed 34,440
Vandalism, whites committed 123,560 while blacks committed 49,600
Drug abuse violations, whites committed 1,109,600 while blacks committed 406,940
Offences against family and children, whites committed 56,390 while blacks committed 24,290
DUI, whites committed 834,890 while blacks committed 144,000
All Violent Crimes, whites committed 276,310 while blacks committed 172,980
You may notice that in certain areas, crime in the black community spikes. These are socioeconomic crimes and are attributed to abject poverty. These kinds of crimes spike within any demographic, regardless of color, religion, nationality if said group is impoverished. Proverbs 10:15 say that poverty is the destruction of the poor. If you solve the poverty in the black community, then you solve the majority of the socioeconomic crimes in the black community.
2) "Black Americans are the biggest offenders of Asian Americans"
The case that still haunts me to this day would be the Latasha Harlins case. This 15 year old girl was murdered because the Asian store owner thought that she was trying to steal a bottle of orange juice. I recall vividly, how many of the local Asian corner stores would berate, mistreat and disrespect its black customers, who were the base of their business. This one Asian store owner (in the historic Jackson Ward area of Richmond, Va) finally got into legal trouble after he ran into the streets firing his gun in broad daylit while black children were out playing. He had previously shot and wounded one man and murdered another with impunity. We don't want to get started on the maltreatment of Africans in China and Taiwan. There are even reports of Chinese immigrants, abusing and being violent towards Africans in their very own countries. It's parts of China Towns, across the United States, that black people aren't allowed in, especially after business hours. They will be met with physical violence, should they make that mistake. We can't name one so called black area where Asians would be met with physical violence just for walking in that neighborhood. So I think that the Asian community needs to acknowledge and renounce the very anti- Black mentality that is alive and well in their community. We need heal from the division and destruction that prejudice brings. This goes for both groups, not just black Americans.
3) "We commit more crimes against other blacks and blame it on white supremacy"
I think that this statement is hyperbole. I have yet to witness a person commit a crime and the say " White supremacy made me do it". First of all...I'm going on the limb here...I dare not say it!!! But fuck it, I'll say it, there is no such thing as white supremacy! No group is supreme over another group. Is there still racism, yes! Are all whites racist, no. When so called black people commit crime, it's just that...crime. And if you have ever studied sociology and criminal pathology, you would know that all crimes are perpetuated within/ close to the criminal's area. Criminals always operate where he or she feels most comfortable. So, whites offend more whites, blacks offend more blacks, Asians offend more Asians and so on. Occasionally, a white or black criminal will venture outside of their comfort zone and commit a crime against the opposite group. Again, that black on black crime stat is another white racist trope meant to demean and belittle the black community even further. People repeat nonsense without first checking it's accuracy. If 1 person repeats a lie so many times, they and the folks they tell the lie to, start to believe it.
3) " Look at Black American culture"
Ratchetness, ignorance and ghetto-ism isn't Black American culture. This trend is a reflection of the black American experience. The ADOS community is dealing with the backlash of the crack epidemic. Mothers and fathers were imprisoned because of their shortcomings and weaknesses in relation to illicit drug use. Millions of white Americans are affected by the ongoing drug pandemic. White Americans get empathy, black Americans got prison sentences. That left most of one generation, roaming the streets without proper guidance. Those babies had babies. Now who reared the babies of the misguided babies? You lie down with dogs and you get fleas. If all one is exposed to is poverty, ignorance and despair, how do you expect that person to function in mainstream society? It's that age old Nature vs. Nurture argument. I do know that it's not in ADOS' nature to be as violent and crude as we are portrayed to be. Plus how can a small group of black celebrities', get on record or camera (many whom are foreign blacks) and degrade themselves and then it becomes all of us... it becomes "our culture"? Please miss me with that. If Marilyn Mansion, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and many others aren't the representation of white culture, then why should Lil Nas X, Cardi B, Meg thee Stallion be a representation of black American culture as a whole?
4) "Black Americans are performing the worst in this country. African, Caribbean, Irish and every other immigrant group are performing better than black Americans"
Here again is another unfactual trope about the model minority. This is a deep statement to unpack. We are all aware that we live in a capitalistic, oligarchy. If there is anything that is loved more than free labor and land (shout out much love and respect to my ADOS ancestors) it's cheap labor. Cheap labor isn't always the most efficient, but it always garners a profit for those at the top. ADOS has given the American infrastructure everything. I'm so you all have read my article entitled "Make America Great Again". ADOS has given the world some of modern times greatest inventions. We have been and are politicians and judges, scientist and lawyers, doctors and inventors, clergymen and leaders, military men and Nobel Peace Prize winners. For ADOS none of this is new under the sun. I'll put it like this...their are successful ADOS and unsuccessful ADOS. There are successful immigrants and their are unsuccessful immigrants. To say that that outperform us is just not true. The difference is that the ADOS community's shortcomings are broadcasted as if that speaks for all of us. It's so much easier to herald a newcomer as the perfect citizen, the model minority. When we understand our ADOS history in this country, we understand that we are owed so much...and that's just to be fair. If you can deceive the world, then maybe, just maybe no one will understand or empathize with our collective plight. When the oligarchs are tired of the immigrant, they can just, with the flick of a pen, send them back from whence they came. In other words, it's easier to exploit, and destroy the "model minority" should that time ever come. America is ADOS' homeland!!! Many of us so called Black Americans are the true proto-Americans. I don't have the actual statistics, but I can speak from observation. Many ADOS in my immediate area are indeed successful. If you define success as living in a beautiful home, in an awesome community with relativity no crime. There are plenty of disadvantaged immigrants. I personally hate to see anyone or any group impoverished. But to fully understand capitalism, you must know that, one must be poor so that one can be rich. You see, in this system, some people have to be the bottom caste. It's a lot of people that are working in unison to ensure that ADOS are the bottom caste.
We have fortune 500 companies outsources jobs all to keep from investing in ADOS communities. ADOS was it's strongest and most successful during reconstruction. Have you asked yourself why? What happened to shift our community from being self sufficient and prosperous?
Peace Always~ Shakira
